Week 6: Nagios Up and Running....

For week 6, the goal was to get a projector added to Nagios Core so it would have the Ping Test feature. At first I was quite confused on what I was doing, even with the help of Nagios Forum. Luckily Chris was able to help me and set the the projector in RLC 102A on Nagios and it worked! The reason for the confusion is that projectors aren't usually connected to the network, and due to that, it was decided to put the projectors under the server category. It doesn't necessarily matter which category in which the projector was put in, because the only thing that needs to work is ping test. Once the information that was copied from Nagios Forum and edited to fit the needs of the project, the projector was up and running according to Nagios Core. As for now, there isn't any email notification set up as per when the projector is down, but that will be the next part of this assignment. Here are some pictures of what it looks like for Nagios Core with the Projector in RLC 102A running :

The first picture is adding the projector on Nagios Core while on the terminal, the second picture is how the projector is displayed on the Nagios Web interface.
