For my project I am working with Andrew Ryan to help further
develop the Technology and Education group at Manhattan College by creating and
cleaning up the Knowledge Base or KBA’S for short. A KBA is instructions and
general information on how to use several technologies on campus. Due to the
rapid pace of technology, it is becoming incorporated into everyday life
phasing out old systems of completing tasks. We are trying to educate clients
on the new technologies to put them in the driver’s seat so they could utilize
this valuable information.
This week during the internship we have begun the process of
cleaning up the Knowledge Base. Before this process the Knowledge Base was
unorganized and useful to some but not the masses. In order to solve this issue
we have created a basic style of what each KBA should look like and follow
those guidelines. After that we were on a mission to go through every KBA and
determined if they met the quality we wanted. That consisted of organization,
its relevance, and most importantly helpfulness. If a KBA did not consist of
these qualities then we would have to re-do them. This week has also consisted
of creating new KBA’s for rising issues among the community. So far I have done
about ten KBA’s. Here are a couple of links to KBA’s I have been working on.
Lastly I have also tested hosting a webpage from
Google Drive due to the transition from the home drive. Through my testing I
found the only tedious part was getting the initial URL. But by following the given instructions it
seems as if hosting a webpage on Drive would be an easy transition.
